Council for
licensed Conveyancers
Introduction:
We
are pleased to announce that starting September, 2008 we plan to offer the above
course for the benefit of our students, subject to viable number of student
enrolment.
This course would develop one into a property professional. It consists of seven
subjects, as follows:

Introduction to Law
and legal method
-
Introduction to
conveyancing
-
Law of contract
-
Land Law
-
Accounts
-
Conveyancing Law
and Practice
-
Landlord and Tenant
After passing the above exams, students are required to complete at least two
years full time conveyancing practical training in qualifying employment either
with a Licensed Conveyancers or a solicitor, property developer, bank /
financial institution, lender, building society or local authority, with an
in-house conveyancing department.
The
minimum period in which the course can be completed is two years. A student is
required to complete the course within a seven year period.

Cost:
The total
cost of the course for a minimum of two years is approximately £3500/-
covering yearly subscription to CLC, Exams and Tuition fee.
Employers
often support student financially through out their academic training.
Funding
Availability:
CLC course,
offered through FE colleges, is eligible for funding from Learning &
Skills Council.
Eligibility:
Any person
wishing to register as a CLC student should have passes in an at least
four subjects in the GCE or GCSE exams, including English at grade A – C.
An applicant
who can’t satisfy the minimum basic education requirements but is
currently working with a licensed Conveyancers or a solicitor and is of
above 18 years of age may be accepted by CLC as a practicing student.
